winter wonderlands

Everywhere we are at present is white! The snow has changed Britain into a (mostly) white wonderland for the walkers and ice climbers. The last two weeks weather has been great for getting out and having all sorts of adventures. Going to Snowdonia isn't always necessary - the photo is of the descent into Townbrook Valley on the Long Mynd. The snow on top of the Mynd is about 4 feet deep in places and the road across is definitely closed with snow and ice!

As work has been cancelled again due to the snow, I've decided I had better spend some time updating the website and sorting course dates as well as posting new photos on to the gallery. The snow continues to trickle down as it has done since midnight last night.

One of the things I was tipped off about was an avalanche video clip that is a sobering reminder of the power that these white nasties can have. The story is attached to the clip so go to http://vimeo.com/6581009 and view it for yourself!
