No I haven't gone over to the dark side!
I was assisting at a one day event on the Long Mynd here in Shropshire with Open Adventure [www.openadventure.com] - the Five series is all about a score orienteering event on mountain bike and on foot, and collecting as many points as possible in a five hour period. From what I saw of the race there certainly was lots of friendly but keen competition.
At the end of the event, a few of us were out on the hills collecting all the markers and stripping down the course. It was really good navigation practice for myself, having a little pressure of time and darkness, as well as finding the markers (example in the photo) which are somewhat costly to replace.
