Sunday just gone was a day off and a dry sunny, warm one (for a change). So the boats were put on the roof rack and off we went for a paddle down the Severn from near Shrewsbury down to Ironbridge. We saw lots of herons, buzzards, a couple of kestrels, kingfishers, and all the way down the fisherman complained of catching nothing. We turned a corner and stopped the boats - an otter was fishing and getting lots of fish. It kept surfacing with another fish and munched away quite oblivious to us watching the masterclass in fishing techniques. In the meantime I tried taking lots of photos to catch it eaing, and failed abysmally every time. Here's the evidence!! It certainly made the day.
